Early morning drive to kandy Sri Lanka’s second largest city, Kandy was the capital of the last Sinhalese Kingdom and enjoys a scenic setting around a lake surrounded by green hills. Home to the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, said to house Buddha’s tooth, each August the city also hosts the spectacular Perahera festival featuring dancers, firebreathers and lavishly decorated elephants.
• Spice Garden
Enjoy Sri Lanka’s world renowned spices in a garden where it smells of cinnamons, pepper, cardamom, nutmeg and mace that overwhelm your senses! A garden with most spectacular specimens that are bound to make you realize that the Sri Lankan culture has so much to offer than what maybe shown from the outskirts.
• Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage
Established in 1975, Pinnawala elephant orphanage is a breeding ground for wild Asian elephants. The aim of the orphanage is to protect and care for the orphaned elephants in the jungles of the island. A natural habitat is presented to the elephants where they are taken to the river twice a day and elephants below three years are bottle fed by volunteers

• Royal Botanical Gardens
Afterwards you can visit Peradeniya botanical garden .Surrounded on three sides by the Mahaweli river, these botanical gardens were founded in 1824 and are still home to one of world’s largest collections of plants and trees. Giant ficus trees, palms, an orchid house and a vast array of trees such as ebony, teak, satinwood, mahogany and tamarind can be seen here.
• Dalada Maligawa
Late afternoon Late afternoon you will visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, known locally as Sri Dalada Maligawa, the most sacred temple in the whole of Sri Lanka. This important shrine boasts intricate carvings and beautiful Sri Lankan art.
